How to Nourish your Mind and Soul

The soul is the embodiment of our flesh. Without our mind and soul, we can’t live. Our mind and soul shape our reality. Also, what we feed them goes a long way in determining our destiny .Just like our bodies, our mind and soul need nourishment. Do these 10 things to nourish your mind and soul:

  1. Practice forgiveness and make peace with others: Making peace with others gives you a serene, stressless mind and soul. It will keep you away from malice. It will make you emotionally intelligent. It enables you to empathize that no one is perfect. Remember, “to err is to man, to forgive is divine.” So forgive those who had wronged you. It nourishes your mind and soul! Most importantly, forgive yourself.
  1. Read: read, read, read, like a maniac. The effects of reading in our day-to-day lives cannot be overemphasized. Readers are leaders. The more you read, the more you know. There isn’t how else you can nourish your mind other than by exposing it to rich ideas. Reading stimulates you intellectually. Wisdom and knowledge are the medicines for your mind and soul. They are only gained through learning. Take it or leave it, reading makes you intelligent and wise.
  1. Pray: Prayer enables deep connections between the creator and the creature. Prayer is a way of communicating with the Divine Intelligence. Whatever religion you practice, adopt a way of praying to God. This doesn’t only nourish your soul, but makes your heart finds rest.
  1. Meditate: the impacts of meditation to your mind and soul cannot be overemphasized. It is a way of training the mind, the same approach with exercise and fitness training the body. Meditation have been proved to do the following, among others: heightened attention, emotional awareness, stress reduction and improves quality sleep.
  1. Explore: explore your creativity, interests, hobbies. Explore your potentials. Explore your world. Stretch out of your comfort zone.
  1. Go on adventures and travel: this is similar to exploring. Book that flight, travel. Go on adventures. Dare to do what you barely think you’re capable of. By so doing, you stretch your mind and your soul will thank you.
  1. Be grateful: Oprah Winfrey said, “be grateful for what you have, you’ll end up having more. If you focus on what you don’t have, you’ll never, ever have enough.” The art of being grateful brings tranquility into your mind and soul. What’s more? It attracts abundance.
  1. Go out in nature and explore it’s wonders: Nature is so, so, beautiful. When last did you marveled at it’s naturalness and wonders? The present day hustle and bustle have made us to neglect God’s gift- NATURE. So go out in nature and explore it’s wonders. Your mind and soul will thank you.
  1. Have fun: don’t forget to have fun. Whatever FUN means to you. Enjoy life, your life and your mind and soul will be nourished. You only live once and if you live well, once is enough.
